Orchid House Mexico City

Our Story

We learned it at home

Orchid House was born from family memories and a deep connection to homemade hospitality. Inspired by the warmth of our grandmothers and mothers, our essence lies in turning every space into a home.

Come home to Mexico.

Belonging is a Destination.

The garden terrace of the Polanco house, with bistro tables under the trees and the chequered floor of the hallway

Orchid House Mexico City · Polanco

A historic mansion on Campos Elíseos

A double-height lobby, blue stained-glass arches and fresh orchids beneath a wrought-iron chandelier over century-old columns — the quiet of an inner courtyard that separates the streets of Polanco from life inside the mansion.

Restoring costs more than building. And it means working with whatever the building allows, not with what someone would have drawn on a blank page. We do it anyway. It is what separates a house from a hotel: staying here means staying inside a piece of that history.

The roots, told at length

What holds all of this up

Five values

What you will find in every corner of the house, and in every detail of your stay.

  • The restored facade of the Polanco house: arched windows with carved stone corbels, clay roof tiles and a flowering vine

    Heritage conservation

The house is a historic building, carefully restored. We kept what was there instead of imitating it.

  • A plate of tortillas in sauce with red onion and cream, beside a green juice and a bowl of fruit, on a wooden table

    Homemade Hospitality

Every guest arrives as part of the family. Everything else follows from that.

  • The lobby: the marble reception desk, the staircase with hanging orchids, reading chairs and red-and-blue tiled floor

    Family and home

Genuine relationships held up by respect and reciprocity — with guests and with the people who work in the house.

  • A wrought-iron balcony with potted plants and climbing vines, on the house's facade

    Nature

The green and the living, in every detail. The surroundings are part of the design.

  • A carved brass headboard with embroidered cushions and a floor lamp beside the bed

    Authenticity

    Design without pretension. Natural.
